Xi’an drum music, hailed as the “living fossil of ancient Chinese music”, was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage item of China in 2005, and included in the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009.

The concert given by the Ancient Chinese Music Orchestra of Xi’an International University has been performed in different cities across the country.

The performances include both music played with Chinese chimes and other traditional musical instruments for important events in ancient times and folk music.
