SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district has crafted a lifelong learning network with the precision of a master barista. Just as coffee beans are ground to fully release their fragrance, knowledge here is thoughtfully tailored into digestible forms.

So far this year, the sub-district has offered 71 public-benefit courses through its community clubs and resident classrooms to over 15,000 people, and 33 specialized programs through the local university for the aged to more than 16,000 silver-haired students.

Like coffee is roasted in different ways to present a different aroma, appearance and flavor, each course was well-designed to meet the preference of a specific age group. For example, the “Travel China on Cloud” program provided XR (extended reality)-based immersive cultural experiences, and the coffee class offered young people a chance to explore the subtle artistry of coffee making.

Moreover, learning spaces extend beyond classrooms. Scenic spots, parks, schools and various cultural and sports venues have become classrooms, while digital platforms break temporal and spatial constraints.

The strong atmosphere of learning is changing the locals’ lives. Seniors document memories with AI and neighbors bond over shared passions. These delicate transformations, like latte art in a cup of coffee, add grace and beauty to the everyday life.
