An event was held in SIP on Jan 6 for the purpose of promoting commercialization of outcomes of researches carried out in higher education institutions and facilitating comprehensive development of education and sci-tech talents.

The event brought together officials from related authorities, leaders of about 30 universities and colleges, and representatives from a number of companies, financial institutions and public institutions.

During the event, the SIP Community of Overseas Higher Education Institutions for Commercialization of Scientific and Technological Achievements was formed. It is designed to link resources of overseas higher education institutions to promote commercialization of scientific and technological research findings.

An organization for innovation in integration of production and education in higher education institutions and a base for cultivation of engineers were inaugurated.

The advanced medical care and health technology research and development platform of NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute and the pharmaceutical and additive manufacturing research and development platform of the Suzhou institute of Monash University were initiated under the Suzhou Proof of Concept Centers program.

Four schools received the plaque for “Key Scientific Research Platforms”, and five research finding commercialization projects and 10 other projects were signed.

Several people were commended as advanced workers in commercialization of research findings from higher education institutions, and a number of organizations were commended as advanced organizations in promoting comprehensive development of education and sci-tech talents. The participants also shared cases of related work.
