The 2nd Wisdom Lake Postgraduate Researcher Development Conference was held at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), SIP on June 19, aimed at promoting integration of young talent cultivation and industrial development.

About 100 doctoral candidates and the representatives from a number of SIP-based industry-leading enterprises, research institutes and higher education institutions participated in the event.

The event included a three-minute speech contest where 16 doctoral candidates from the Renmin University of China, Soochow University, XJTLU and other higher education institutions gave short speeches on their research projects using easy-to-understand language, covering architecture, civil engineering, artificial intelligence and biomedicine.

Many enterprises and research institutes interacted with the doctoral candidates and offered about 70 job vacancies to them.

Moreover, Dr. Duo An, co-founder and chief scientist of Neowise Biotechnology, an SIP-based company dedicated to developing TCR-based cell therapy drugs for the treatment of solid tumors, shared with the participants his journey from an academic researcher to a startup founder.

The representative from the Bureau for Cooperative Development of Higher Education Institutions of Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District gave the participants a specific introduction to SIP’s policies for talents with doctoral degrees.
